About the Recipe

Drumstick Sukke is a flavorful and semi-dry side dish from the Konkan region, showcasing the unique taste and texture of drumsticks. This simple yet aromatic preparation highlights the vegetable with a coconut-based masala, making it a perfect accompaniment to rice and curries

Various Indian Spices

Ingredients
 

  • 6-7 Drumsticks( peeled & chopped)

  • 1 tbsp Oil

  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds

  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds

  • 1 Onion

  • 1-2 tsp Ginger garlic paste

  • 1 Tomato

  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder

  • 1/2 cup Grated Coconut

  • 1 cup Water

  • 1/4 tsp Sugar

  • to taste Salt

Step 1: Temper and Sauté the Base

  • Heat oil in a kadai.

  • Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and let them splutter.

  • Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.


Step 2:  Add Tomatoes and Spices

  • Add tomatoes, spices, and drumstick pieces.

  • Cook until the tomatoes soften and blend well with the masala.


Step 3: Cook Until Tender

  • Add water and mix well.

  • Cover and cook until the drumsticks are soft and fully cooked.


Step 4: Finish with Coconut

  • Stir in grated coconut and sugar.

  • Simmer for a few minutes, then turn off the heat and serve.
